I'm walking close to the sea on Isla Margarita. Around me arid desert scrub and a lot of cacti. It's a very hot day. A hummingbird forages low in a bush. When I come closer it immediately defends its territory. It even pecks with it's bill at my lens. When is doesn't understand what it is it perches on a branch and waits leisurely while it looks at me. It stays at least one minute before it dashes away.
