I'm half awake, I hear the river and my little friend. It woke me up again with its early morning song. Tipically whistles with or without trill. Easily recognized. Everyone is familiar with this friendly little bird because it thrives in company of people.
Pairs have small territories. They peck on open ground for grass- and weed seeds, loaf in low bushes, hedgerows and small trees. I know that I will miss them when I leave Venezuela.
