A very common resident around villages, towns and all kinds of suitable habitat. Often roosts in trees or buildings in towns. After rain it spreads wings to dry. The Black Vulture is a scavenger and feeds on carrion but will also eat eggs and kills newborn animals. It lays its eggs on the ground, a hollow log or some other cavity. Both parents incubate the eggs and both feed the nestlings, regurgitating food at the nest site. The young remain in the nest for two months.
